Governor Andy Beshear is among those mourning the loss of former State Representative Jesse Crenshaw.  Beshear shared word of his death at age 79 yesterday, calling him an inspirational leader in the commonwealth.  Crenshaw was a military veteran, teacher, and lawyer who became the first Black member of the Kentucky House from Fayette County in 1993.  He retired from the House in 2014.Crews have worked through the night restoring power to residents and businesses across Louisville after a wave of storms swept the region overnight.  The storm closed a portion of I-264 East due to flooding last night.  Downed trees and power lines dotted communities' streets across the state.  Louisville Metro Police are investigating the death of a bicyclist who was killed during severe weather after his bicycle collied with a truck on West Pages Lane in Pleasure Ridge Park.  The cyclist became stuck under the truck after the collision.  The truck driver stopped and called Pleasure Ridge Park EMS and Fire for help.  The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.  It's not yet known whether any charges will be filed.    Kentucky Derby Festival organizers have decided to close Fest-a-Ville at Waterfront Park early for the rest of the week after fights disrupted this past weekend's events.  Metro Police had to make arrests both weekend nights after fights broke out among juveniles at the Derby celebration.  Police arrested two juveniles Saturday night and three more juveniles as well as an adult with a gun Sunday night.  Fest-a-Ville will now close at ten p.m. instead of the previously scheduled time of 11 o-clock.      A group of voters in London is suing to have Mayor Randall Weddle removed from the ballot.  The citizens argue Weddle is not a city resident in a new Laurel County Court filing.  They claim Weddle lives on East Highway 552 in Keavy, outside the London city limits.  The group says there is evidence to show the mayor does not live at an address on East Fifth Street listed on his candidacy filing.There is just one week left to request an absentee ballot for Kentucky's primary election.  Those requests need to be made by May 5th.  The ballots will then need to be returned to county officials by Election Day, May 19th.  Kentucky has a high-profile federal race brewing this year.  The May primary will determine the Republican and Democrat candidates who will run to replace Mitch McConnell in the U.S. Senate this fall.
